Software
Updates
From time to time Gallantry
may release software updates to address
newly discovered issues in its software
products. There are two types of software
updates:
- Hot Fix: Software
updates to address a specific issue. Appying
a hot fix does not change the software
version number.
- Service Pack:
Software updates that includes all necessary
hot fixes to bring a system to the latest
revision. After applying a service pack,
the software version number will be changed
to reflect the revision. For example,
a version 3.1.2 system updated with a
3.1.7 service pack will become version
3.1.7.
Software updates can
be downloaded from the "Support"
- "Download" section of the
Gallantry Web site.
Version
Upgrades
Gallantry maintains
its software version in the major.minor.revison
format. For example, version 4.1.6 means
major version 4, minor version 1, and revision
6.
When a new version is
released, if there are major changes to
the supported hardware platforms, underlying
operating system and software functionality,
it will get a new major version number.
Systems with different major version numbers
are not compatible. Upgrading from one major
version to another requires purchasing a
new system. Gallantry offers a deep discount
for existing customers who wish to upgrade.

When a software version
gets additional functions, newer version
of its components or other enhancements,
the minor version number changes. Customers
with a current technical support plan may
obtain free minor version upgrades by downloading
or by ordering a CDROM (A fee of $25 applies
to each CDROM order to cover material, shipping
and handling.)
When a service pack
is released for a software version, the
new version gets an increased revision number.
Service packs are available for downloading
from the Gallantry Web site. If you wish
to order a CDROM that contains the newer
revision, a fee of $25 applies to each CDROM
order to cover material, shipping and handling.
Module
Upgrades
If you Gallantry product
comes with "Upgradeable Services",
you can add features and services to your
GallantWEB very easily by acquiring module
upgrades.
