Internet Connection Setup

What type of Internet connection can GallantWEB support?
GallantWEB supports all types of Internet connections that provide an Ethernet Interface (T1/DSL/Cable/Wireless). GallantWEB also support Dial-Up Internet connections (Analog Modem/ISDN Modem).

Does GallantWEB support a PPPoE Internet connection?
Yes, GallantWEB supports a PPPoE Internet Connection. No additional software other than the GallantWEB software is required.

Does GallantWEB support a PPPoA Internet connection?
No, the GallantWEB does not support a PPPoA Internet connection at this time.

Does GallantWEBsupport T1/Fractional T1/Frame Relay Internet Connection?
Yes, the GallantWEB supports all these Internet connections, but an external CSU/DSU and additional router is required to convert the T1 signal to an Ethernet signal first.

Can GallantWEB operate behind an existing Router/Firewall?
Yes, the GallantWEB can be used with any type of existing Router/Firewall. However, some reconfiguration on existing Router/Firewall may be required.

Is a fixed IP Address required to run GallantWEB?
It depends on what type of service that you plan to run on the GallantWEB. Services such as Web Hosting, Email Hosting and VPN would require a fixed IP while other GallantWEB services do not.

How much bandwidth is required to run Web Hosting/Email Service/VPN features on GallantWEB?
It depends on the volume of traffic actually going through the GallantWEB. Small companies with less than 40 employees my reach an adequate network performance running on ADSL (786kbps down 128kbps up) while medium companies with 100 or more employees may require at least a T1 (1.5mbps) or a fractional T1 (128kbps-1.5mbps).
